Five Lessons I Think Everyone Needs To Know

These are the most important lessons I think everyone should in regards to their health journey.

We are not just the physical body, we are also the mental, the emotional, and the spiritual parts too. So when we think about preventative medicine, we have to think about the body as a whole instead of working with just one part. We work on all the areas of the wellness, not just food behaviors.

Falling off track on lifestyle habits is going to happen because life or we tend to get in the way! It’s time to normalize this, and it’s okay! Knowing that this is expected, allows the possibility to create good contingency plans. How fast you rebound back on to the saddle is what a Health Coach can help you with too. 

Genetics loads the gun, but the environment pulls the trigger.  
We could have genetics on our side that may be looming over us, and we may have that lingering fear that our parents' or another relative's illness(es) may be our fate, but you can turn off the genetic markers and turn on the healing ones with what you choose on the end of your fork, and by changing your environment; and in regards to environment I mean your lifestyle habits of quality sleep, nutrition, movement, relationships, and how you manage your stress. These are the roots of the tree! If we care for the roots, we'll see some positive change!

The environment always wins. So, if you are living in a current environment that is not supporting your goals, if your daily habits are not supporting you, you can actively change it to support you instead of working against you. Turn the fear of "I hope to God I don't get xyz" to an empowering statement such as, "I am doing the very best I can to be proactive about my health". And if this isn't ringing true, I can help. We have so much power in our hands! 

Mind-body exercises like Yoga, Pilates, Tai-Chi, Dance, and Qi-Gong are the keys to moving with intention, creativity, and bringing more peace and well-being to your life, because it deals with how you manage your stress, and the overall energy flow in your body. There are so many studies on how this is true.

A final note: I realize more and more that my work as a Health Coach is so valuable and needed. When you go to the doctor, there is not always enough time for follow-up to make sure you are on track with your health goals. That's where a Health Coach can help. A lot of the root causes of dis-ease are lifestyle habits that are not going so well. Like our sleep, our nutrition, getting movement into your life, how you manage stress, and more. I can be a guide, a soundboard, and the accountability is the best part! You are more likely to follow through with your goals if you have a Health Coach holding you accountable, because my mission is your success and for you work me out of a job. You'll be able to do it on your own!
